Meow Dyer Cat Rescue works hand-in-paw with our sister organization, Meow Dyer Cat Café in Leonardtown.
Cats who are ready for adoption often transition to the café lounge, where they can socialize, play, and meet potential adopters in a relaxed environment. This unique model allows our rescue cats to receive enrichment, attention, and visibility while they wait for their forever homes.
Meanwhile, the rescue focuses on intake, medical care, foster placement, and helping cats who need additional support before they are ready for adoption.
Together, the rescue and café create a compassionate system that helps more cats find the right home - and ensures those who need extra care are never forgotten.
Our Story
Born from Community. Built for the Cats Who Need More.
Meow Dyer Cat Rescue was created to help the cats who need more than a café environment can provide. While the café focuses on socialization and adoption, the rescue allows us to step in for cats with medical needs, FIV+, seniors, and those requiring longer-term care.
Inspired by Roman, our first sanctuary cat, we are building toward dedicated rescue and sanctuary space where cats can receive individualized care, advocacy, and love — for however long they need it.

Roman's Legacy
The Cat Who Inspired Our Sanctuary Vision
Roman, a beloved resident of Meow Dyer Cat Café, reminded us why rescue work matters so deeply. When he was diagnosed with lung cancer, our community rallied around him with incredible love and support.
Roman’s journey opened our eyes to an important truth: some cats need more than adoption; they need comfort, advocacy, and lifelong care.
Because of Roman, Meow Dyer Cat Rescue is working toward building dedicated sanctuary space where senior, FIV+, and medically complex cats can live safely and with dignity, surrounded by love.
His story continues to inspire everything we are building.
What We Do
Helping Cats at Every Stage
Rescue and Intake
We take in cats and kittens in need of safe placement - from healthy, adoptable cats to those requiring medical care or extra time.
Medical & Special Care
Some cats arrive with illnesses, injuries, or chronic conditions. We provide diagnostics, treatment, and long-term support.
Thoughtful Adoption
Many of our cats go on to loving homes through careful matching with adopters.
Sanctuary & Long-Term Care
For cats who cannot be adopted due to medical or behavioral needs, we are building toward dedicated sanctuary space so they always have a safe place to live.
